From September 24 to 26, 2025, the symposium “Biology of bacteria producing natural products” took place, organized on behalf of the German Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM). At the meeting, Antonio presented his research on the chemoenzymatic synthesis of lasso peptides and was awarded a poster prize for his contribution. Lasso peptides, known for their unique three-dimensional structure and high stability, are promising candidates for therapeutic applications. Antonio is developing strategies for the efficient production and optimization of lasso peptides as glucagon receptor antagonists.
