From May 6–8, 2025, researchers from around the world met in Trieste, for the CECAM workshop “Computations Meet Experiments to Advance the Enzymatic Depolymerization of Plastics – One Atom at a Time.” The goal of the event was to bring together computational and experimental scientists to share the latest advances in using enzymes to break down plastics.
The workshop was co-organized by our lab member Paula, who helped to shape a program that included keynote talks, contributed sessions, poster presentations and networking events. Alongside Paula, Georg, Jonas, Norbert and Alexander attended the conference to present exciting new research on polyester hydrolases.
Alongside the scientific talks, the workshop offered plenty of opportunities to connect with other researchers and start new collaborations.
We’re proud to have been part of such an inspiring event!
